All time set composition question

Curiosity here.
62 Fleer Fred Williamson is listed in the Top 50 All Time AFL set.
Fred did not make the All time Raiders set.
I don't remember him all that well so he may have played somewhere else.
Explanations?

Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.

Fred "The Hammer" Williamson made his name with the Chiefs I believe, played in the SuperBowl with the Chiefs I believe.

    Peace

  • Kadoka,
I grew up in KC and am still a huge Chiefs fan (though it is getting hard with Herm in charge). I know he was there but I did not believe he was there that long and certainly was not considered a top defender there.

  • I think he only played 7 or 8 years. I agree hard to believe he makes all AFL set. Guess his hitting and acting ability got him in.

KC played up the Hammer act for Super Bowl II against Green Bay. I think Jimmy Taylor or another Packer leveled him in the first quarter. Knocked him out and he never returned. I guess the Hammer got nailed. He was the Boz of hype for his time. Went on to do some minor a acting. Always did like Fred, but All Time Team? That's a stretch. Fuzz good to hear from you. Joe
