CoinFest question about dealers who walk the floor, and Longacre's restaurant recommendations for de
I heard that the CoinFest show in Greenwich is sold out. I also thought I heard that other dealers will be showing up who do not have tables. Will these dealers be allowed to transact business with customers, or is that not allowed? I thought the rule was that the dealer had to have a table to conduct business, but I am not sure if the rules are different at CoinFest because it is the show where the motto is Prepare To Be Amazed™. For example, I noticed that John K. listed CoinFest as one of the shows he's attending, but he is not on the dealer table list. Does anyone know?
Also, as a service to the dealers and attendees at the show, below is a list of Longacre Endorsed™ eating etablishments. I know the dealers like top shelf meals and booze, so I tried to select some of the nicer places. There are tons of less expensive restaurants in Stamford, CT, which is where most of the dealers are staying, if I am not mistaken:
Valbella One of Longacre's favorite restaurants. I have never tasted such amazing shrimp in a shrimp ccktail in my life. They are about as big as your hand, too, but still succulent.
Thomas Henkelmann at the Homestead Inn A wonderful eating establishment and a very exclusive Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Longacre have stayed in the Inn a few years ago, and dined in the restaurant.
La Colline Verte This is Mr. and Mrs. Longacre's favorite restaurant, but we only go on special occasions because of the excessively pricey menu. The food is nothing short of amazing. It's a little bit of a drive from Stamford/Greenwich (approx. 20 minutes), but well, well worth it. You might sit next to Paul Newman or some other mogul if you're lucky.
Restaurant Jean Louis A spectacular eating establishment. If you're ever in Greenwich--and if you have the means-- I highly reccomend stopping by. Tell Jean Louis I said hi.
Cobbs Mill Inn An outstanding restaurant, housed in an old mill, in a very picturesque location, complete with water fall and pond. A nice place to take the ladies. A little bit of a drive from Stamford/Greenwich (about 15 minutes).
Ocean 211 A great restaurant in downtown Stamford that focuses on seafood. Great wine list. Ask to eat upstairs. Minutes from the reccomended CoinFest hotels.
Other: there are lots of other restaurants on Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich and shopping, including Tiffany's (say hi to Mrs. L. because she almost lives in that store). Stamford has lots of resaurants in all price ranges, too.

and they call that area of CT high class... pfft!
Why is it that the recommended restaurants are those that only serve European originated cuisine?
Authorized dealer for PCGS, PCGS Currency, NGC, NCS, PMG, CAC. Member of the PNG, ANA. Member dealer of CoinPlex and CCE/FACTS as "CH5"

Note the $50 is going to 2 great Charities.... the Children's Crisis Center and the W.C.C.C.
yes we are doing everything we can to make Coinfest a great show!
remember "Change is good!"
Usually they're there to do business with dealers who do have tables. If they're going to do business with any collectors, most of them have the courtesy to do that business somewhere other than the bourse floor.
(There are also frequently dealers sharing tables who aren't listed in the show guide.)

Can anyone recommend shopping malls or such in close proximity to the coinfest venue???? That might be a selling point to get her to take me, if she is available.....
Thanks

The Stamford Town Center is enormous and very close to the show. I also think there is the Galleria Mall in White Plains, NY.

NOTE:
If one takes the train to the Stamford stop..... and they run express trains from the city there..... Coinfest has a luxury Bus shuttle FREE from the train station to the Civic Center!

I noticed this too -
Dave and I often seek out good sushi - perhaps Longacre knows of a place near the show.

Let me look into this. I know there is a good place in Stamford, but because I don't do sushi I don't know the name of it. I will also see if there are any in Greenwich. In what hotel are you staying?

Traffic going into this area from NY City can be a little dicey on Friday afternoons starting around 3:00 PM. I'd suggest getting in a little earlier if you are coming of of NY and are planning to make dealer setup.

A&W makes the most tasty hamburgers in my book.
