Ah yes.
The problem with reserve-price auctions.
In this case, the 1874 Seated Dime.
Looking at the bidding history, we have a second-highest bid at $135.00, and a run-up to the Reserve Price at $400.00. What does this tell us?
1. The bidder likes the coin at $400.00.
2. There is no inherent competition between $135.00 and $400.00
We really don't know how much the coin is worth in this case. Is it really worth $400, or is it worth $140, or somewhere in between?
I'm just here to cause trouble, that's all.
