I hope this isn't a dumb question, but can someone explain this? How do you obtain uncirculated and does that mean untouched by human hands? thanks.....rob

Not a silly question, although you might get more answers in the correct forum, the US Coins forum.

For moderns, the answer is easy, coins gotten directly from the Mint or a bank.

Or as many seem to think, as long as there is no detectable wear it's uncirculated, whether touched by human hands or not.
This would pertain to classics (for sure) & moderns.
