Be patient, you are way to early to start fretting.....

I know that I cant access ebay or my home email from work so you may have a similar situation.

  • Thx blu,
But in my auctions I stated that contact or payment within 3 days or coin would be re-listed
I've seen that in many auctions. Thought it would get $$$ in fater,
    Maybe I shouldn't do that?????????????

My bad I read as if you sold it last night, not Sunday!!!!

4 days different story. I doubt you could do anything yet...... but I understand the frustration.

Maybe he's just a dingbat who's mailing you a payment. I assume you sent him an invoice? Maybe he didn't realize it was Paypal only and dropped a m.o. in the mail. I wouldn't worry about it for at least 10 days after the auction, but that's just me.

    Cheers, B

  • Yes, I sent an invoice. My turbo lister screen shows that I accept checks and MO's not just paypal.
In checking auctions at bottom it says so. Why did you say I only accept Paypal??? Am I missing something???
I sure would want to know if I'm seeing one thing and different computers are showing something else...

Thanks every one for the help. Sure can use it....

Wait 10 days from the close of the auction and then contact him through the eBay communication system. At that point you can file a dispute with eBay, but I generally wait until it's closer to 30 days before actually filing a dispute.

I also generally email bidders directly every 7 days or so to keep on top of things if I haven't received any communications from them.

Regardless of conditions you state in the listing, eBay's policy is that they have 10 days in which to get payment to you, regardless of whether they contact you via email prior to payment or not (unless they changed their policy since I last looked at it). Check the current dispute policies. I think you have to file a dispute between 10 and 30 days after the auction closes or you lose that option.

  • Thanks again.
Yes policy is 7 days after close of auction before you can file and unpaid notice. Then the buyer has time to respond and on and on it goes.
Ya know I wouldn't mind so much but the coin is a 1841-o in decent condition.
This buyer was getting it for $18.50.
And my pictures were not up to snuff. Really wish I had more time to take pics.
Let other things, like sick wife and 2 kids get in the way.
Me bad. I need to do it better.
Well here's hoping I here from him.
Just want things easy with this have enough on plate.

I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

Buying top quality Seated Dimes in Gem BU and Proof.

Buying great coins - monster eye appeal only.

  • Thx, I've already written him 3 times with no responce.
Ebay won't let me dis him yet. It just burns me that I lost other sales on this decent coin. Hopefully it will do better when re-listed,
That's another reason I like doing business here on the board.
Bought a super nice Commem just this am.

I assumed it was Paypal only because you were so concerned with it after only 4 days. I mean, maybe the buyer dropped a m.o. in the mail box and then went on vacation. I've had many people win an auction, mail a payment and never contact me...no big deal. I'm sure it will all work out for you in the end.

  • Thx doh,
I just don't like the hassle of it all. It's only $24 but it's the idea of messing with someone or them messing with me.
I pay ASAP, usually within minutes of auction ending.
And I expect my coin in my hands the next dy.

Have you checked this guy's feedback rating? Sometimes that helps in determining whether he's a good client or not. You might want to call ebay and get his telephone number and call him.

An echeck should be treated the same as a physical check. So whatever you normal hold period is for a check. So at this point you have been paid in a reasonable time frame. Ship when you feel comfortable and I wouldnt worry about this transaction a second more.

Edited: Have you looked at his feedback? His has 1450 positves at 99.3% adn all his last transaction are seated dimes with positives! I think that would make you feel ok. It is not like his is outside his normal buying routine.

You'll get an email notice in a few days when the e-check clears into your account. Then it's as done as it gets. I ship the coins when I confirm the payment has made it into my account.

I will ship to an unconfirmed address if it's what they ask me to do. If it makes you feel any better you can save the email until you can confirm delivery. Use delivery confirmation from the USPS so you don't have to depend upon the uncommunicative buyer.

I've never had any faith in any of Paypal's seller protection policies. I think they're all about the buyers.

  • Thanks everyone,
I do feel better, it was him taking so long to pay and then never responding to his messages.
And then he does the echeck with an unconfirmed address that made me very cautious.
Don't want to sound like a wife for this little bit of money but, I can't afford to get burned on the little
he paid for a decent coin. Can't afford to lose any money on any deal.
All has gone so well for me with Ebay and PayPal. This is the first time I ran into a
    deal like this.
Have had much better transaction with the people on these boards.
Everyone treats each other with caring and other kindness'es.
