The 2003 PCGS MS70 LIncoln Cent

Sorry for stealing this image off the forums, I apologize if It makes you angry.

I put some circles around areas that certainly look like contact marks to me. Can anyone explain them?

  • It's impossible to grade a coin MS70 from a picture.
    Never teach a pig to sing. You'll waste your time and annoy the pig image

    I agree, they could be marks that were on the coin from the time it was minted.

    MS-70 doesn't really mean perfect.

    The simple fact is that there ain't nothin' perfect.

    It's graded 70 because it is "perfect enough".

    Having examined the coin last year, I had no problem at all with the MS70RD grade assigned by PCGS.

    it may just be the way it looks, but does "united states of america" on the reverse appear doubled?

    Looks like the obverse is doubled as well. Perhaps one to manyimage!

    Perhaps "70" has be redefined in the same manner as "first strike" has, and probably for the same reason$.
