I really need some help

This really has me stumped.

For the past 3 weeks I have had problems posting, or replying to the forum.

It keeps timing out on me when I click on Post Message.

It gives me the same problem with IE6 and Firefox 2.

Everything works fine on the testing forum and as of the other day my PM function seems to be working.

I’m getting 367 kbps upload and 4911 kbps download. I can read the forums fine. I just can’t reliably post or reply.

I do not think it is a browser issue as I have used XP and Fire Fox.

This will be my 4th time attempting to get this posted.

I apologize in advance as this could be considered OT.

What I need to know is anyone else experiencing this? TIA; jws

Posting just fine. . . Not sure what could be causing that.

Try clearing out all your cookies. I'd ry that first.

  • If your computer picked up some spyware sometimes it can interfere with your other software and cause things to work erratically. I recently had an infection that made it nearly impossible to select text on a web page or to type into a text box. I installed Mcafee and it wiped out the infection. I also recommend Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Both are free.

    ChrisRX,

I am posting this from my office computer (which works fine).

I have tried clearing my cookies, but I still can't post from my home computer. I have run Spybot and did a complete virus scan with AVG and found nothing.

Could you do me a favor? Please PM me and see if I can reply to a pm from my home computer.

    Thanks in advance. jws

PM just sent. Also, clear out your temporary internet files. If that too fails, might be some kind of virus?

I have a similar problem in that out of 6 photoblogs at Image Shack one will not load at home and has been that way for a couple of months now. It loads just fine on other computers.

I had the same problem not being able to access some sites. Router was bad only on certain things. Drove me nuts till Belkin RMA'd it.

There is also another solution if router isn't bad. Download Trend Micro HijackThis 1.99.1 from Download.com. Run on your computer and post the problem you are having and results from the scan to message board. Tons of very smart users in their forum that can guide you thru all the data hijackthis comes up with. I am pretty good with computers but hijackthis is even a little too technical for me. They've helped me out a time or two when I had a problem I couldn't track down.
I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
