Recent Bureau of Engraving Tour/ questions about "The Fed"

Laughable to see 100,000,000.00 in 100 dollar bills sitting on the printing floor next to the gigantic presses they have. One small room out of 5 huge floors all printing money. Would defiinately trade pocket change like the 24k sacagawea coins for the load of "paper" they are printed on.

By the way, as an uneducated newbie, just how does the "Fed" monetize the dollars that are printed? How are they entrusted with this money to disperse to the masses? The tour guide states that the fed orders the money. But do they actually pay the government face value for it? Or when they add liquidity to the market, i.e. loan more money to the banks, are not the fed banks making more money in interest charged to the very banks they loan to? Where does the interest that the "Fed" charges go?

Can anyone explain?
