A little over a year ago...

I walked off of MCAS Beaufort, SC knowing, that I would never return to that flight line in lew of working on an F-18 again.
Little did I know, that a small favor (about $1K) to one of my original customers, who is also a Major in the Marine Corps, and a pilot for the same jets I used to work on, was going to send me quite possibly the best contract I have ever been extended.
Friday morning, I will once again, walk onto the flight line of MCAS Beaufort, SC in my safety boots and cranial... but civilian clothes this time, to discuss the plans for all new canopy covers, intake covers, and exhaust covers for the F-18 aircraft.
From my understanding, there are new regulations on the covers, so all are being replaced, and 2 of the 8 squadrons have them completed, sourced out of California, however, when my customer ended up in charge, his first phone call was to myself. We here, of course accepted the job. Still crunching numbers, trying to see where things will end out... however this is a good contract, that just solidifies my presence here on the island, for canvas work. Not only do we do all the work for the fire department for the town of Hilton Head, but I might also be able to get some type of permanent contract with the military out at the Air Station.
Ive been wanting to purchase a 17XX US coin for a while. I think I just might once this comes through... post a 17XX US coin to get me thinking which one I want... and to celebrate.

<< <i>One of my favorites.
I like that!!
No wonder I can't ever get any government contract..........................been doing it wrong all these years
My first 17xx coin arrived last week................I've yet to take pics of the coin, these are the sellers pics.
when I grow up I hope to upgrade.
BTW...............good luck with the contract, I know all about canopy, intake/exhaust covers, the ones I handled were on F4J's though.

I did about $2K worth of work to his boat while he was in Japan. When he returned, he hit a concrete pole pulling the boat out of the storage yard. I told him I would fix it for materials and a fishing trip... saving him about $1,000.
