Ricky Williams wants to return to the NFL

He has formally applied to be reinstated, this is not a joke. The Dolphins still own his rights and if there is quick action on this request
they might trade him if they have any takers.

Comments

  • He's following the predescribed method for reinstatement to the NFL.

Last time I checked, he hasn't broken any laws, hasn't been sent to prison, hasn't been convicted of any crimes. He should be able to proceed through the system and if the NFL deems his eligible to return, he should be allowed.

If he fails another drug test then expect his career to be done...but there are plenty of worse people in the league.

We should reinstate him and trade him immediately! I say we trade him for Mewelde Moore & a nice linebacker or db. Or, if not, maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Didn't say he shouldn't be allowed back, I just wonder who would want to take a chance on him.

The guy is a major head case (not that usual in the NFL of course) but I think he is just out of control and another positive drug bust
almost a certainty. Still, I suspect someone will take the chance.

Hasn't broken any laws? I thought Marijuana was illegal in the US.

I got no problem with Ricky Williams, he wanted to be a burnout more than an NFL back, now he needs cash so he wants to be an NFL back again. If he can play give him a fair shot.

I don't have a problem with Williams, either. He has been known to suffer from an anxiety disorder so I can't fault the guy for smoking a little grass if it calms him down. There are players serving shorter suspensions who have done much worse of late. Plus, after Caddy's injury, I need a front line back on my fantasy football team, lol!

Testing positive for marijuana isn't illegal.

Ricky is just misunderstood and being oppressed by the man.

    Free Ricky!
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

The problem is the price. I'm sure a team would sign him for minimum type money as a goal line and short yardage type back. Problem is Sir Ricky probably isn't gonna wanna play for small money - he's gonna want big money.

Bottom line - I doubt if he'll ever again play in the NFL....unless he is willing to accept minimal money. And no team owner in their right mind is going to pay him a signing bonus of any kind.

The way Cedrick Bensen is playing maybe he should start smoking pot.

The Offense would need something stronger than pot.

The only way Miami gets anything near that much for him is if the other owner is smoking pot as well before he deals, or if Ditka takes on a new coaching job somewhere soon.
