1971 World Series Baseball Question

My dad gave me a baseball from one of his friends who moved (I don't know the history of it) but it is supposedly from the 1971 World Series Game 3. Now, I am a Pirates fan and all, but is there any way I could get this authenticated?

Collecting all things Pittsburgh.

Completed my Clemente Basic Registry (2007 - 2014)!

Since Game 3 was in Pittsburgh, the ball would have to be an Official National League ball (there were no commemorative World Series balls back then). Without strong provenance, assuming that its an ONL ball, you are going to have a very hard time trying to convince anyone that it was actually used in that Fall Classic game. Do you have a scan?
