I finally did it!

I finally scanned in all my Emmitt Smith cards to my master set. I got rid of all the small, bad scans and put nice good size ones in. It took alot of work but was / is pretty rewarding. There are a few not scanned because they are getting "re-graded" at psa.

Obviously I have a way to go with the set but Im pretty happy with whats going on right now image

Check it out if you like.

How does the registry handle the low serial numbered cards? I noticed a card that I am looking for is not listed in the registry. It is the die-cut version of this card: 1999 LEAF ROOKIES & STARS STATISTICAL STANDOUTS EMMITT SMITH. This one is serial numbered to 1250 but the die-cut one is numbered to 34, I think. There was one on Ebay a month or so ago but I missed out on it. It is part of a 25 card set. Each card is serial numbered to one of the players stats for the previous year. The lowest numbered is the Terrell Davis numbered to 5. I believe the highest numbered one is the Barry Sanders numbered to 86. I have 19 of the 25 cards including a Terrell Davis.

You cant do 1 /1 cards because that obviously would not be fair to others. I have some numbered to 25. I would guess anything under 5 would not be allowed.

The die-cut card I mentioned above is actually called the Super Statistical Standouts. I believe the Emmitt is numbered to 34 but it is not listed in the registry. I have only seen 2 or 3 listed on Ebay in the last 5 or 6 years.

    Good job Matt.

I don't really appreciate when someone has a reg set and no scans.

There's nothing to appreciate - viewing a set with no scans is like watching paint dry.

Some of them are true stories Randy. Like the 1990 Score Supplemental card. This guy took my $300.00 bucks and was giving me the run-around. I was ready to take trip to New Orleans to pay him a visit and get my card when he had a change of heart image

The other true one is the one about Toaster Strudels image

Great scans of a remarkable collection. Excellent work!
  • I'm in awe. And a little jealous. Are you a Dallas fan or just a Emmitt fan? I have a card that I can't seem to locate on your list. Do you not have one or are you just not interested in the card?

I have been a Cowboy fan since I was 5 or 6 image However, Emmitt is my favorite player.

I dont have that card. What do you think it would grade?

    Matt
  • Probably an 8 maybe a 9. I'll resize the pic and if you want it pm me your addy and it's yours. I'll look at my other Emmitt's and get back to you.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Nice looking set. I figure that having scans lets you see what most of the cards/inserts in the set looks like. I'm glad to see fellow board members helping you out with your set since I keep reading about how much you send out to people here. I need to get some time to finish scanning my Chris Webber master set even though its nearly as complete as yours.
