Just curious if there was or not?

and if so how many times have you got whacked by lineupguru or travelingyaz on eBay? Either outbid or made you pay a lot more than you wanted to?

I'm working on a NM/MT-ish raw set, so I don't run across the eBay graded snipers too much. However, if anyone has any of the following 1969 Topps Football available in raw NM/MT or better condition, please PM or e-mail me. I'll pay good prices for strong centered cards. Thanks - Mike

    1, 3, 6, 7, 11, 20, 25, 26, 29, 32, 33, 34, 36, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 53, 55, 59, 60, 62, 64, 68, 70, 75, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 85, 88, 90, 94, 95, 97, 100, 104, 107, 110, 111, 118, 120, 121, 123, 124, 127, 128, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 142, 143, 144, 146, 148, 150, 153, 154, 157, 159, 161, 163, 164, 165, 166, 168, 169, 170, 171, 172, 173, 175, 176, 178, 179, 182, 183, 184, 185, 186, 187, 188, 190, 191, 192, 193, 196, 198, 199, 202, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 211, 215, 219, 220, 222, 223, 226, 227, 229, 231, 232, 233, 234, 235, 236, 238, 239, 240, 241, 245, 248, 249, 250, 251, 253, 254, 255, 256, 257, 259, 260, 262, 263

  • 69 is a very popular set and definitely a few of us hardcore collectors are out there. Seems like 69's run in cycles - prices were pretty fierce a couple years ago but have come down a fair amount for 8s and 9s. Traveling Vaz is pretty much the king of 69s - if he lists his set in the registry, he will be the clear #1 and untouchable (even from MOSH)

yeah what gets me about both of the guys I listed is they buy multiples of the same "hot" card like Lamonica, Griese, Morrall, Nitschke, Butkus and the SP Commons. I hate dropping $130 on a 69 Topps Earl Morrall but if I have to I will.

yeah I k now. I have 4 7's in my set right now (all were cards I submitted) I might eventually do that.... but I have told my self I would only buy 8's or higher or raw that I could submit. Also the last John Hadl ended at like $220.00 (yes that is right John Hadl)image

Quite a few times. I've found though that 69's come up often enough that I can eventually get them. I upgrade to 9's when feasible, but I'm looking to finish the set in PSA 8. If anyone has extras, please check my set and PM me.image

yeah there was a nice lot of them that ended yesterday. You pushed my bid on the Floyd Little up a little... but I was still able to get it.

  • The Hadl card is tough. The one you mentioned is the first 8 or better to come up in years. I have an almost complete set of 69s in PSA 8 with a handful of 9s. The one card I am missing is Hadl, but I have several raw examples that should be 8s. If someone is looking to buy the complete set mine will be available soon. I will probably put it on ebay with a reasonable reserve. I haven't seen the value from the large auction houses on most of the sets I have sold.

wow the Butkus ended at $183.50 today, did not think it would go that high, even though I knew Fabfrank needed it. Oh well, it just goes to show the appeal this set has.

I was surprised I was out bid also. The next one will probably go for less, but like I said. If I win... great. If not. I'll wait.image

the set seems to have eased up a little on the high number commons, but the Dick Butkus, Jim Otto and John Hadl are still topping 2 bills when they come up, with the exception of the last Otto that ended.

I was able to get the Morrall in an eBay store for $100.00 from a guy who typically way overprices stuff, but I still need the rest of those you listed as well.

This thread has been cold for quite a long time. Sorry for the Ebay spam but I'm putting up a link to my auctions that end Monday night. All 263 of 1969's are listed, all graded with 166 PSA 9's. 1969 PSA cards
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.
