I just jumped in head first my self Host coin is a 1885 Liberty Nickel listed in the Martin-Dow catalog as Ill-WCE-4 with four stars Host coin was a 1860 1C listed in the Martin-Dow catalog as Ill-WCE-2 Host coin was a 1911S 1C listed in the Martin-Dow catalog as CAL-PPIE-2
I just bought 30 pre-1982 cents out of a manager's desk drawer today in preparation for a trip to Sequoia-King Canyon National Park. There are supposed to be 5 penny stretching machines up there with 4 different designs each, so my 8-year old will have a field day cranking them out. Out of the 60 to 70 cents in the drawer, only 4 were wheats. There's a 1919 in VG-F that may escape the rack, a 1945-S with VF details and a wicked rim nick, a 1946-D in F, and a grungy 1949-S in VF. Unfortunately, there were no 1926-S cents in MS65RD+.
Maybe it 100 years they'll be worth $1 each or more.
I have afew my family and I have made at various attractions. The zoo in Brevard Co. Fl. Pocono's mt in Pa, and afew others. Ill see if I can dig them out and get some pics to share.
Looking for Au Classic Commems... Also looking for VF-EF Seated halves.
<< <i>I only collect these as souvenirs of places/events I have been to. Since most souvenir shops are full of marked-up junk, this is a cheap alternative.
How does everyone store their collection? I use the elongated 2x2's with a Dansco 7000. >>
I collect anything that says Detroit and have a bunch of elongated Lincolns from various Detroit functions and places. A Detroit Tiger / St Louis Cards 1934 World Series just sold on Ebay yesterday for big bucks !!
<< <i>There always nice to collect, especially those 90% silver dime, quarter, & halves... >>
I brought some junk 90% Roosies on a trip when I knew there was going to be a dime stretching machine at one of our stops. Oops, is "junk Roosie" a redundant term?
We have a couple of binders for these. It's amazing how many machines are out there. I think it was Marine world we just kept running in to them and each machine had 4 or 5 different designs.

<< <i>My daughter likes to make them and saves them as souviners of places we visit. She only wants them if she was there and made it herself. >>
My kids do the same thing every where we find these machines on vacation. I always pack some new pennies and a roll of quarters just for this purpose.
