1965 Kennedy Realized $450 on Teletrade

Link. Coin was a MS-66. Population is 31 with 8 higher. Somebody must have really wanted it or thought that it could upgrade.

I could have used that because all I find are those pesky SMS. But not at that price!! It's madness I tell you, madness!
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • I was bidding also, but the price ended up too high for that coin. I personally think the buyer over paid and just wanted it for a set, because you dont see that coin very often, at almost any price. I agree its madness.....

PRO: Nice luster and appears bright white.
CON: See that slide mark on the cheek? Ouch!

I bought mine from Mitch (minus the slide mark!) for less than half what this one sold for. You mean these have gone up that much?
-Probably just two bidders who got caught up in a bidding frenzy is all.

  • Matt,

As you know, that's almost double the final price of that 1966 I had, which has no coins in 67.

    Dog,

If you don't insist on the 1965, you can get a nice 68-D in MS-66 for under $50.

  • Keith,
Your right double the price, I hope this is not the trend on the MS 65-67s but you dont see them that often, but still to high for that coin. I picked up a nice toned MS 1965 raw with a MS 67 reverse its got the best reverse i`ve seen on a coin in that year, bright white tight feathers and no shield marks, I thought the coin would grade MS 66, even with the toning PCGS said different and gave the coin Ms 64, great toning color in the sunlight....I still think its a MS 65....oh well.......
  • Well I wonder what they would give for one in MS65. I might could help them out if the prices are like that.Any takers????

Keith: The price is absurd! I think I still have one left of the 1967 regular issue in PCGS-MS66 white which I was selling at $85 on these boards couple weeks ago!!! If anyone needs one, I will still honor my $85 price if the last coin hasn't sold. image Wondercoin.

Hey Keith, you know my motto, gotta have first year of type.................

  • Dog,

I'll try to keep an out for one for you, unless you're looking for a 67. I find one of them first, I'll sell you my 66 of that date. image

Mitch, That's a great asking price on your regular issue MS66 1967. If I hadn't just picked one up from eBay (DateNType) the week before I would have snapped yours up.
There is a big gap now in the pops between the 1965, 1966 and the 1967. Someone must have submitted a small hoard and pulled out a few MS66's. The pops are much higher now then they were just a couple of months ago.

  • Current Stats:

    MS-66 MS-67
    1964 369 14
    1964-D 203 17
    1965 32 8
    1966 27 --
    1967 41 3
    1968-D 81 8
    1969-D 26 1
    1970-D 134 2

Looks like the 1967 has had the biggest jump, but the 64's are creeping in MS-67, and will always be popular being made in MS-66.

I have three 1964-D's to submit. I got three bank-wrapped rolls and most of the coins were worthless, but the end-toned coins were pretty decent. I'm hoping for 66's only, but they are probably 65's. Hard to say. They look as nice as a 68-D I just picked up in 66, but you never know with PCGS.
