David Lange's New Book On Coin Boards

Got here yesterday from Southpark Coins. 206 spiral-bound pages
about the old coin collector boards from the 1930's. Tons of neat pix
and, I believe, the first attempt to price the boards. See his
website at www.coincollectingboards.com.

  • Coin boards look fun, but I've never seen any for sale. Haven't
really looked either. There's been a couple other threads the past
couple months with some neat pictures.

I haven't seen the book but my local store has a board and the Columbian I just posted was bought of the board. When I first went in there 15 years ago it was a bid board. I got married and when I went back years later it was a Buy It Now board, mostly full of cheap coins and most, if not all, are commission coins. I guess it's a little anachronistic but I didn't realize it. --jerry

    Here's one of mine!

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

Lange's book is full of really interesting information - stuff that few coin collectors ever get to learn.

Totally cool Utah, I would get that one in a frame with glass and hang it somewhere.
  • Great book. I got a copy during Long Beach and then David signed it!

Come to the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Atlanta Expo if you're in the Southeast next week. David Lange will be giving a presentation on the topic.

    1:30, Thursday, October 11.

    Should be an interesting talk.
