DANBURY Show Sun 9/30 anyone going _UPDATED with brief show report....

We will be heading back towards CT this Sun
September 30th - Danbury Coin Club
Sheraton Hotel, 18 Old Ridgebury Road, Danbury, CT 06810
9:30 - 4:00 PM
BRIEF SHOW REPORT.....
running a show is no easy job, but clubs really needs to make sure that all will go smooth for the dealers if they wish to attempt a show....
The expectations for this show were mixed since we had not attended this clubs shows in several years.... the location was not a bad choice close to a major highway.... however the organization left a little to be desired.... upon arriving it was every man for himself... no one to offer assistance....at least point us in the general direction..... after swiping a moving cart from housekeeping we managed to get our cases etc...up to the second floor..... setting up was no biggie....but here even a cup of coffee from the club would have been appreciated.....
We purchased 2 tables to help the club out..... not once did any member of the club come over to us and thank us for coming to the show, offer to help, or see if we needed anything..... this lack of showed in the fact that the turnout was not very heavy ..... maybe 100 people thru the door.....
really a shame since there was quite a bit of fresh interesting material....including a AU58 1944 Steel Cent that I made an offer to purchase.... we did pick up quite a bit of great collector coins and could have purchased a lot more ..... we sold some items and had a nice time wrapping up quite a bit early (around 2pm) rather than sticking out to the end of 4:30pm.....
We also promoted our own show "COINFEST" and felt that this effort in itself made the show worth attending....
Would we do it again...sure we're gluttons for punishment...
