Neat roll find - 43P RPM Jefferson?

StrikeOutXXXStrikeOutXXX Posts: 3,352 ✭✭✭✭✭
Found this in a roll few days ago. Noticed the mint mark either repunching or machine doubling, but I'm leaning RPM. Variety Vista has pics of one close, the RPM-063 here: Variety Vista RPM-063. Mine doesn't match exactly though. The CONECA master list has so many RPMs: CONECA Master Listing 43P, I'm at a loss without pictures so if anyone knows, I'd appreciate it. Mine shows a die break above the right roof somewhat. I also have some slight cracks in Jefferson's hair (not exactly like the 063 though) but couldn't get a good shot of them. It isn't perfect, but might turn out to be neat.

I always suggest buying the right book and learn, "The Jefferson Nickel RPM Book", by James Wiles. You'll have fun hunting for RPMs and then trying to look and see if you found an existing RPM or possibly a new one!
    Enjoy!

Oooops, forgot to add, based on what I see, PRM #4. Also, the RPM Book has a small supplement with new findings.

Thanks - that book is on my list. Completely missed the small crack from the head to the rim, but RPM4 seems to fit now that I focus on just one of them.

However, if you're thinking PCGS will annotate the RPM, think again.

    ANACS will...

Unless the RPM4 adds some absurd amount to it's normal coin price, I'm thinking it's destined for a 2x2. I think ANACS would label it environmental damage anyhow. It is destined to sit in a box for awhile until I stumble across a few more, then I may actually hunt for them if I get on an RPM kick.

No question it's an RPM...machine doubling doesn't look anything like that.

    Pretty nice RPM too.
