Bank Find

Today while I was at the bank I found a 40% silver 1971-S Eisenhower dollar (looks like the uncirculated version) in a batch of a few dozen I bought (unfortunately it was the only silver one among them). How much are these worth?

  • Maybe $5 if they are still uncirculated...

  • No, this one is definitely circulated, and shows evidence of a past cleaning long ago.
  • Still a cool find, though. I have a number of Kennedy proofs that have come from circulation...

Unless it is a pegleg it has little value over melt which at today's prices are about $4.25 tops. More reasonably along the lines of $3.00 to $3.50.

DDO's and DDR's were also known for that year and mintmark so you could possibly have something of interest to someone if you could accurately identify it.

    Sweet find though!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
