Coin shop robbed at gunpoint in Nevada

Police are looking for two people who robbed a local coin store last week. The man and woman were buzzed into the store at Decatur and Meadows Lane after posing as customers.

Once inside, they took the worker to a back room at gunpoint. There was a struggle and the gun went off. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the violence didn't end there. "When they ran out after getting a lot of cash and coins they ran out the front door and you have to be buzzed to get through it, they just shot it out," coin dealer Gary Brown explains.

Gary Brown bought the store several days after the robbery. He says the shop will be re-opening in October.

I wonder if anyone had considered contracting a couple guys to rob and scare the bejeebus outta some dealer to be able to buy his shop from him on the cheap and even "recover" the stolen merchandise to inventory it. Not really a conspiracy theory guy here but that's what popped into my head upon reading the last line there.

Not Sahara Coins....they are at Decatur and Sahara not Decatur and Meadows Lane. It was Silver State Rare Coin Company.
Young black couple estimated 18-26 years of age. The store has video and they captured it all.

I think folks behind the counter in B & Ms need a lot of nerve.

I admire them for carrying on.

Is this the one that sells SAEs, and such, on ebay all the time? Super restrictive in their terms and no shipping benefits, but they do deliver? Same?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I was in Vegas and did the coin shop thing last of May first of June...I tell ya things are changing around Vegas...and not for the better either.
It was a nice place when I first started going to Vegas but this last tirp did it for me...

The TV show "Cops" has had a number of episodes from Vegas, away from the glittering lights it does not look so nice.

Heck, I've been here since '64 and have seen most of the changes to this fair city. The gambling/strip/downtown is just for the tourists
and retirees that want that sort of thing. I haven't been on the strip in over 10 years. To me it's just a big city with 2 million folks just
like you. Big city and big city problems but probably no more so than any other large population city. Don't put any stock in the COPS
program. I watch it too. It's just a typical beat for the typical cop. No different, no better and no worse. We have rapes, murders and
robberies just like any big city. It's actually a nice place to live if you aren't in the gaming business.
Just a side note: Las Vegas has more churches per capita that any other large city in the USA! Maybe the gamblers pray alot?

Vegas, a mere 2 hours from our shop in St George, UT. Where the scum bags from Vegas came to rob our shop and shoot and kill Jordan.
