For Sale to a good home-- 1854-O Quarter Eagle (NGC AU58) from the Longacre Collection™
This coin is from my personal collection (called the Longacre Collection™). Trends on this coin is $1,100. The current PCGS population reports indicate a population of 19 in AU-58 (with 17 graded higher), while NGC shows a population of 122 in AU-58 (with 26 higher).
The most striking feature of this coin is its superb color. The obverse is a beautiful, rich orange gold color with coppery hues in very nice proportions, which enhance the eye appeal of this coin. In hand, the coin looks much better and more interesting than the pictures indicate. The reverse of the coin has a similar orange-coppery color, which nicely complements the obverse.
The Doug Winter standard text on New Orleans gold coinage indicates that there are three die varieties for this date. I believe that this coin is Variety Two.
Price is $885, and includes registered insured shipping to you. The coin has a five day return policy.

<< <i>Nice coin... seriously, is the 122 graded in 58 by NGC a typo? >>
It must be resubmissions. I don't have the Trends prices in front of me right now, but I think there is a big jump to 60/61.
