Was a First Day of Issue SBA Dollar Ever Offered by the U.S. Mint?

I realize that there are Souvenir Sets, Mint Sets, and Proof Sets, all containing the first year of issue Susan B. Anthony dollar, but did the Mint ever issue an official FDC or cachet of some sort which contained a SBA?
Back in the 70's I remember reading an article in CoinAge about a collector who had glued a first-day-of-issue 1964 Kennedy half dollar to an envelope and then had the local post office clerk postmark it. I did the same thing with two SBA dollars on July 2, 1979. Did anyone else do something like this? What other options were there for a FDI coin in 1979?

You have a set of "What" in stock??
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Someone certainly did a first day of issue for each of the three mintmarked '79 SBA's,
but I don't know if they are mint issue. They're pretty attractive really but not scarce.

The Postal Commemorative Society issued First Day of Issue Coin Covers. The coin covers contain new coins struck at all three U.S. Mints (Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco) that were first released to the nation on July 2, 1979.
As this is my first reply, I would like to thank everyone for the great information and have learned so much reading all your responses.

    Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the info. This is probably the one I'm thinking of. There's some green on the envelope and it reminds one of currency.
