I like the second one - shows the surfaces rather well.

From a buyers prospective, I like #1 better, from a seller's, #2. If I was trying to sell it I'd have to use both.

I tend to like the more accurate photo, #1.

Photo 1 is better IMO, although a tad dark. Now, starting with that photo and tweaking the levels and contrast a hair gives the image below. It's a bit lighter and shows the details a bit better than #1, yet not as washed out as #2 (of course would have to see coin in hand to see actual color).
