U.S. mint question

Has anyone here gotten anything free from the mint? I mean it got shipped and you didn't get charged? I ask this because my TJ spouse proofis on the truck and the charge has disappeared from my bank website. Should I hold out hope or has it happened before.

Same thing happened to my dad who ordered one. They charged his bank account the day it shipped, and then when the coin arrived the charge was gone.

I know I was just wondering if I should call them and let them know. Lord knows the government would never steal from me so why would I do that to them?

My father had a $25 bag of buffalo nickels that he ordered from the mint a few years ago. They didnt show up he called and complained and they ended up shipping him two bags somehow in error (he was only charged for the original one that didnt show up).

In this case they would have a hard time sending me another one. Although that would be SWEEEET.

I checked my cc account online on the day that the TJs were all supposed to ship and there were no charges listed. I did notice that my available credit was down though. Turns out my cc doesn't list "pending" transactions in your balance or account detail but they do apply them to your available credit. Maybe your charge is still pending?

The unc and the proof were listed as pending yesterday and today the unc was charged and the Proof was just gone completely. I probably shouldn't have opened my big mouth though.

CC charges do post a bit strange sometimes, debit cards are really a crap shoot. Mine is anyway.

It seems that they may get approval from the credit card company for the purchase before shipping, but don't put the charge through until they ship or even after they ship sometimes.

Don't worry, the charges will show up in a day or 2, it always does.

I know this sounds weird, but I always pay the Mint with a check card. The charge is debited, in every case, the day after the coins arrive. Most recently, my FS Jeff's arrived yesterday and the debit is set for today. I don't try to figure these things out as I need my rest at night...
