Really nice looking coin. It's a VAM 7A which is an R6. The first 8 should be doubled and there should be a die gouge on the cheek as well.

I grade it a G4 and I will pay full grey sheet for a G4.

Yes, it is a 7A. The gouge on the cheek (actually behind the eye) is easily noticed and has likely been inappropriately responsible for a lower grade on some specimens, being confused with a gouge in the coin rather than in the die. Contrary to what at least used to be in the VAM update, that gouge is not a VAM-7A feature but exists in the VAM-7A parent as well.

Leroy designated this as R-6. I hoarded a number of high grade ones and believe it is slightly less rare, though the key variety for the date. The highest I have is a PCGS 66 and the highest GSA is strapped by NGC as a 65. It is a cool VAM for an exceeedingly common BU date.
