I went to the bank for $200 of Jefferesons. Here's what I got

Weeks ago I went to my local bank to get Jefferson dollar rolls and they told me they didn't have them yet. Yesterday I went to a bigger bank and here is what they had. I asked for $200 of the Jefferson coins and the teller said they only had 1 roll left. I asked her for whatever dollar coins she had for the rest of the $200. There was 1 circulated mint roll which I haven't opened yet and the rest were circulated rolls where you flip the ends down. The % of each kind of dollar coins was about 55% sac, 40% pres dollars(about equal #s of Wash and Adams, a few less for Jeff) and 5% SBA. I was pretty surprised to see the wide variety of different coins and it also makes me think that they actually did circulate at least once since they were all mixed together and not just culls from people looking for the errors. 4 rolls I got 9 months ago were all 95 % sac and 5% SBA. The rolls were from a local diner.

  • The few SBAs were narrow rimed. I've never seen a cheerios sac. How are they different? I'm sorting out the broad struck and best condition coins and will spend the rest.

  • I get a good amount of SBA dollar at my bank, as well as the occasional Ike.

Most banks around here also stock the presidential dollars.
  • Ah , I see. Thanks for the link. Best way to tell looks like by the extra lines in the tail feathers. That would be funny if I'd already spent one without knowing it.
