How many eBay NPB's before suspension?

It's a long story but Seller wants me to pay fees to get out of transaction which I agreed but when I calculate Listing fees and Final Value fees it comes to $6.51 but he wants $9.60 because he says " listing fees for electronics are a bit more" which is bull. I got my $6.51 but using eBay's published fee schedule. When I emailed him to explain how he came up with $9.60 no answer. I will not be held hostage. It's not the money but the principle. Do NPB's drop off ones eBay account after a certain amount of time or does it stay there forever?

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

  • I thought that as long as both parties agreed not to complete the transaction, then eBay wouldn't charge the seller any final value fees.

I believe it's 3, not sure if there is any time frame involved. You can read ebay's literature and clearly see that they strongly frown on NPB's.
  • There is no fee difference. There is also no set rule on how many NPBs a buyer can have before they are removed, 3 used to be the number. However everyone can get their first strike removed by a simple appeal. Ebay gives everyone one freebie.

Dont want to sound like a weenie without knowing the story, but if you're worried about how many NPB strikes are the max, you may want to rethink your bidding process if its more than one or two. I dont how he listed it, but if you return a product to many electronic stores, even ones like best buy and circuit city, they charge you a "restock fee". Think of the extra $3 as that.

  • For the record I have never had a NPB filed. This was a case of bait and switch and I found out something after the auction had ended. It just annoys me that I was willing to pay their Listing and Final Value fees and they tagged on an extra 3 bucks but couldn't explain it to me.

  • the seller should be out no fees. they just need to let ebay know you both agreed to not complete the transaction. no harm to you and seller can get fees credited to account and can relist the item at no charge.

In that case, I would think you would have a claim with ebay for a fraudulent auction since the item was not as advertised
