Putting TONED coins in an Intercept Shield Album??

Will the toning stop?

Will it spread to other coins in the album? By introducing whatever caused the toning, to the album page.

Some of my ASEs in a dansco album are starting to tone. Would changing to an intercept shield help?
(Old man) Look I had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was, “That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah”.

(Priest) BLASPHEMY he said it again, did you hear him?

There's no reason not to, as far as I know.image

the material used in the Intercept Shield products stops the coins it surrounds from being contaminated by anything outside of the holder. my understanding is that the contaminants are nuetralized as they pass through the material and, thus, never reach the coin inside. it follows logically that if a coin inside of an Intercept Shield holder has contamination on it's surface that it'll tone. if those SAE's are toning you might want to remove them, rinse them and then replace them in the folder.

I've had a set of IHC's in one for over three years and haven't noticed any change in them, while many of my proof memorials are toning in a blue whitman. So I'd have to say its working.

you should always take a slab, put the slab in an intercept shield holder, then place the intercept'd slab into a colorless hard plastic box and then place the box into a vacuum-sealed acid-free chamber....
