Has anyone used NCS on a dug (heavily corroded) coin?

Has anyone used NCS on a dug (heavily corroded) coin? I'd love to see before-and-afters. All of the pics on their website deal with haze and spot removal, which is interesting, but the conservation issues on a dug coin are just a little different...

  • I worked at Fred Holabird's table (Holabird Americana) at the Milwaukee ANA, and he had hundreds of western Good-For tokens certified by NCS. Many of them were so heavily corroded they were barely recognizable. Sorry, no pix though

I didn't send it to them, I just bought it afterwards......cracked it out and soaked it in WD40. Most of the green is gone and it looks 10x better than it did.

You might want to try Allen Stockton for more advanced coin repairs. NCS are amateurs by comparison.
