Would PCGS BB this 1827 Bust Half?

DoubleEagle59DoubleEagle59 Posts: 8,379 ✭✭✭✭✭
Would PCGS BodyBag this half due to the very light hairlines noticeable in the last picture.
All four pics are of the same coin. First two is with fluorescent lighting, the last two is with incandescent lighting.
Thanks for your opinions,
DE59
(it has not been graded by ICCS. I just used this as a background).

Not likely but you'd be wise to let the coin acquire some more color.

I'm hoping it will be OK.

Look at the coin with a loupe. If there are additional smaller lines then don't bother submitting it; otherwise, those lines shouldn't be a problem.

looks like the eagle has caught something in it's mouth, and it is leaking.

    Enviromental damage??????

I still like her, and she can come live with me if you kick her out.
  • A year ago I would have said "No." - no question. PCGS would BB it because of the hairlines.

...but about 6 months ago I picked up two AU-55's in PCGS holders at a coin show and they both had more hairlines than your coin.

Therefore, I give it a 50/50 chance. (Which is of no help, if you are using only my vote to base your opinion.)

If it comes back slabbed, then it was well worth the gamble.

She's very purdy.....I hope PCGS likes what appears to be lovely natural toning.

    I know I like it.

    But who am I??

......Good luck and send that baby in for PCGS grading.

I look forward to an AU53+ PCGS slab in your collection.

PCGS might bag the coin, but it is certainly worth a try. The coin does not appear to have luster, so a grade of XF 45 might be the PCGS grade. If there is sufficient luster, this one should go at least AU 50
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
