eBay Question

I've received an unusual 'Question' from an eBayer about an auction in progress, and I'm at a loss to understand what he might be trying to tell me, or even if the 'Question' itself is a prank of some kind. I'm hoping that someone here can help interpret this message I received today. Since this involves an auction in progress, I will NOT be posting any links to the item. I hope that this is okay.

"Hi,I dont know how your (this auction)ended in the misspelled listing...but it's in there..Dont know if you know what that means,in short it means no one will see your auctions except thoes who have the software or pay to download it...Just thought you might want to know..(just a concern ebayer)...bye...Bill p.s. I didnt look to see if it was in the section where millions can see and bid on your auction..."

Any help would be appreciated, along with suggestion as to whether I should cancel and relist or not.

Thanks.

  • I don't know the answer but link your auctions and let US see if we see them (or it).

edit: oops, you don't want to link.......NM.

  • You may have misspelled an entry in your item's auction title or such that caused it, the item, to show up in a search category where it usually may not have been found. A category that you as the seller had not intended for the item to show up.

Who was it that had some kind of search software on here several months ago? Many people use the programs.

  • Here is how you answer that question.

Exactly. Like to help but not enough information to assist.

I would suggest posting the link. I know this may be frightening but if more people look at the auction there is a chance you might get higher bidsimage

This is usually considered a good problem for most of us.image

Almost certainly an attempt to trick you to install a zombie, keylogger or remote control program on your computer.

Could be a trick but if something in your listing isn't spelled right it's true.

There are search tools that find listings with bad spelling.
If someone lists a 1932-D qwarter searches for quarter will miss it but that sort of software will find them.
