I noticed the different boxes. What are they made of?
Thanks,

They're good looking coins but I'm disappointed in the hair detail. I looked at some originals on EBAY that seemed to have more detail than these new ones from the mint. It really is the hair that makes this coin design a classic, and it seems they messed that up.
<< <i>I got one of each today and took them out and looked at them.

I agree, they are NOT as nice as I expected. Mine will be fliped

I think my F-15 draped half has more hair detail.
Thanks, GrandAm

The Jeffersons are based on the half cent of 1800-1808, which does not have the same degree of hair detail as the silver coins of that era. People that complain about it don't seem to know what the half cents look like. I think the Mint's done a fine job, and will be keeping mine.

THANX for posting the pix. Proofs are ALWAYS hard to photo, but you done well. That proof looks pretty dang nice -- and I've noticed that many of the frosted proofs loose a bit of detail since the dies are blasted with glass beads to give the frosted finish.
Anxiously awaiting mine... Wayne

Paleodale - are you feeling a bit invisible? SORRY, I hear you but can't share since MINE HAVE NOT ARRIVED. BUT I feel your pain, and see your point. Anybody listening?
<< <i>Oh,, I give up.....
I'm sure it is simply light refracting.
What are the lines on the back of the Unc. and does that affect the grade. i.e. not a 70 ?
thanks,
So many members are discounting the UNC, but it looks very good.......in fact I might give it the slight edge over the proof this time around.
A classic design just looks "right" in UNC rather than proof, classic designs in proof look like knock off modern copies........just my opinion,

I am in Houston this weekend for my wife's 20th High School reunion...when I get back, I will look at the unc and let everyone know about the discoloration. I didn't notice it when I was photographing the coin, and when I looked at the photos, I assumed it was a lighting issue...
As for the auction photos, I noticed that all the others had the mint photos in them...I thought it would be good to use the real ones, and I never use stock photos in my auctions anyway...

Also, my Unc. doesn't have an discoloration. It does have a couple/few of those die scratches.
BTW, these were imaged on a scanner, not a camera.
I think I actually like the Unc better.
* While these aren't actually pictures of mine, they look just like the ones posted!
the uncircs look wonderful...i'm keeping all of mine, no grading, no nothing, just bootyful coins.
proof is outstanding....
those poor, poor hags really are butt ugly coins in comparison to Jefferson Liberty.

<< <i>Mine arrived yesterday too. In the spirit of all those eBay sales where someone snakes another person's pictures to sell their goods, here are mine*:

Thanks for enlightening me on the exact coin that this is a duplicate of. I'll see if I can find some images of that particular coin. Even though I was a bit disappointed to look at them, but I looked at both of mine up close and it turns out I got very good examples of each, so they're going in to PCGS for grading ASAP.
