Help with value - 1988 fb cello box, all packs with Bo on bottom.

The title says it all. I bought a box of 1988 topps FB cello's to pretty much give away at a show, and it turns out that every pack has the Bo Jackson football rookie on the back. The box is a little worn, and has a small hand-written sticker note on the side saying "bo bottom". The packs look legit, so I figure someobody put this together a while ago and some how it made it to me, for $15.

1) Think anyone was going to buy one of these for $1 a pack to begin with?
2) Now that the only decent pull, and I mean that in a very loose way, is guaranteed, think I can get the $1 a pack now?
3) Now that the only decent pull, and I mean that in a very loose way, is guaranteed, think I can get more than $1 a pack now?

Thanks.

I think you can get a buck, possibly two, per pack....but I don't think there are necessarily 24 people out there willing to spend that.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    1) probably a few people
    2) absolutely
    3) I don't think asking $2 would be unreasonable at all

I would put that interesting box on eBay actually. There are a couple of Bo Jackson collectors that you could get involved in a bidding war and someone might be willing to give you $50-60 for the box or more. If the Bo rookies were on top it would be much better, but an interesting box nonetheless.

I agree with Arny. Give it a whirl and you might be able to get the $2/pack. I would start the auction at a $ amount that you are comfortable selling it at.

    Thanks guys.

Now I guess I have a real decision to make, and I use the term "real" very loosly.

Bring it to the show (which is this weekend), and try to get $2 a pack=$48 total (and it may take a few shows), or leave it at home, and put it on e-bay and try to make a few more $$'s. I'm leaning towards the show. For one, it should make a few more folks stop by and chat, which is always good for sales. For two, I said the packs look legit, but I'm far from an expert on un-opened 1980's cellos. I'd hate to flip it on E-bay and run into a problem.
  • I would sell it all together. To assemble that would be costly and very time consuming. It might take you awhile to find a interested person but it would be worth it. If ebay is your route I wouldnt worry about any problems. Paypal, use DC and ship to a confirmed buyer with good fb. If they thought you'd scam they would be on top or another year/player.

Congrats, thats a cool find. Someone went to alot of K-Mart,Woolworths et cetara to assemble that.

Okay - I think I'll try and sell it whole at the show, if it doesn't sell, then maybe e-bay.

So....put $60 on it at the show?

I would put it on ebay. I sold some Bo Jackson stuff recently and it went for WAY more that I thought it would. He must have a helluva following.
