Advice on Game Used Bats,

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know anything about this seller? Seems credible to me, but I have never purchased a game used anything before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I realize that PSA offers a service where they will look at an ebay auction and give you there input. However, with just 3 days remaining on the auction I kinda missed that window of opportunity.

Thanks everyone,

Jeff

  • They are the real thing.
A lot of the stuff they get comes from Spring Training. Look for light use on most of the items they have..
  • The bat is real. Elite Sports Marketing has contracts with players for their equipment. They met up with Thomas a few times this year and last and got plenty of bats from him.

ESM is fairly legit. They contract directly with the player to sell their stuff. Basically though, like baseballfanatic said, EVERYTHING they get seems to be called game-used. For example, they have or had a contract to sell Manny Ramirez stuff, and people were getting things with little or no use on it. People who collect Manny were saying that MR basically uses bats until they break and that "real" gamers should have tons of use.

    Just an FYI.

Is this bat the same model and type of bat that Frank Thomas would use in the regular season? I appreciate everyone's advice. I've never bought one before, and I want to make sure I am getting a bat I'll like, and one that will appreciate in value too by getting the real deal.

    Thanks,
    Jeff
  • Buy something for the enjoyment, not the investment.
When athletes get hooked up with marketing companies like this, they hand over almost everything they get for a couple of bucks.
They change shirts between innings, number each bat with the hit or Home Run they hit with it, number their batting gloves etc etc, so there really isnt a shortage of the items available at the price they are asking.
And yes, Frank has been using the same model Hoosier bat that is in the auction
