"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."

On the Post-Game Show Ken Singleton was just commenting how the Yankees were the clear winner in the off season acquisition of a starting pitcher. The Yankees get Pettitte who would have won close to 20 games if not for a few games where he lost via errors or blown saves at the beginning of the season. The Red Sox get Dice-K for a bundle and he has been mediocre at best, and Barry Zito hasn't been good.

Come on Hack, thanks for laying the hater bait. Everybody knows that while he has had a fine career he is NO Hall of Famer. Pettitte has no desire to pitch until his body falls apart.

I would be willing to bet that 2008 will be Andy Pettittes swan song. So, No HOF Now, Yankee HOF? You betcha! image

No laying down the bait here, he is actually very comparable to another Yankee Lefty

Although not a 1st ballot HOFer, Whitey Ford made the HOF in 1974 with 77% of the votes. Pettitte is right there with him. The difference, Ford came to an already great Yankee team in 1950. It took a couple of years for the Yankees to become great after Pettitte was there. He, IMHO, has a very reasonable shot at the HOF.

Awesome pitcher, but he might not be better than Cone, Gooden or Brown who were clearly the best at some point in their careers. If Andy Pettite can get to 300 wins, yes, he is a HOF. I don't know how long he wants to play. If rumors are true, he may be hanging it up sooner than later. He will be in the Yankee HOF for sure though.
