any vams to be on the lookout for these Morgans...?

  • I'm intrigued by your numbering system.

    1921, A, B, C, D, E ???

    You have 5, plain P-mint, 1921 Morgans?

Yes all plain p's unless it says 0, or d.

I was taking pics of obv/rev and I wanted it to be easy to distinguish between duplicate 1921's for example.

My wife is anal, it may be rubbing off. LOL

  • So that 1921-D is actually just your fourth 1921 coin?

    1886 - Line in 6/thru M, Doubled Arrows
1889-O - Oval MM, Clashed E, Doubled Date
    1897 - Pitted Reverse
    1884 -Small/Large Dot

1886 VAM-20, and look for die breaks (large chunks of extra metal) on all 1921 coins.

Could those be on the obverse on Libert's neck?

1886 VAM-20 doubled date, look below the 1 and inside the lower loop of the 6
1889-O look for crumbled left obverse stars, clashes (esp on a slanted date)
1897 two pitted reverse, one is below the tail feathers (6A) and one is through the N of ONE (3A)
    1884 doubled ear
1921 pitted reverses, wide reeding, noticeable die breaks

There are plenty of others for these dates but the rest are pretty common with premiums evaporating. Both 1897 VAMs are among those too.
