This Ebay auction could have gotten messy.

About four weeks ago, I accepted a Buy-It-Now offer on a coin for $1950. I didn't hear from the winner until a week or so later when he emailed to tell me that he did not have the money. I let him off the hook and got my fees back.

I relisted the coin at 99 cents with no reserve. He came in with a late bid substantially below his original $1950. Fortunately he did not win the coin. I don't think that I would have sold it to him at that point. He is going on my block list for a while.

  • Should have blocked him the first time. Least he upped your bid though. image

  • He is blocked now. I didn't mind him bidding on other coins (if he could pay for them), It was pretty rotten of him to try to grab that coin cheaper though.

Are you going to give us an ebay id to block? This guy sounds like a tool...

Maybe he was shilling your coin to show his appreciation for letting him off the hook. image

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
