I also have a Canon Canoscan series scanner and have had very good luck with it. I tend to use my Canon digital camera to take my coin pictures, but the Canon scanner was the best scanner I've tried before I got the camera. I agree, though, that's a very nice looking bust half. I bought an 1822 in an NGC 55 holder about 2 years ago and (amazingly) it crossed to a PCGS 55 holder. I wish I could buy another at the price I paid two years ago....Bust halves have been crazy lately!

These might scan better if they were outside the crummy mint holders. There are oils in them that do not pass light too well.
