so I bought my first Morgan toner (these things are impossible to photograph!)

I've never bought a coin solely for its toning, but this one is a VAM cherrypick (B1 reverse VAM 83), it's a 2-point increase over my old coin, and the silly thing went for Grey Sheet Bid so I had no choice.
Trying to photograph it, however, turned out to more than my patience can deal with. The obverse is pretty accurate, but the reverse is... well, not. The aqua blue is much more intense in person, and there's WAY more caramel/root beer color than it appears here. It's so pretty that when I get the VAM attribution done I'm going to ask that the coin be put into the holder with the reverse facing out.
Does anyone have any photo suggestions about how to better capture the subtle colors of toners?

edited because I dorfed out and called it a VAM 80 instead of an 83.

When in doubt, don't.

Oops, there's a typo in my first post. It's a VAM 83, not an 80.
I could tell from the scan that it was a B1 reverse (the arrow 'nock' extends beyond the arrow feathers), and that it was a VAM 83 because the 1 in the date is positioned quite a bit higher than the first 8, and the 3-leaf spring at the end of the olive branch is connected.
