You might be a novice card collector...

...when you ask how much your real old set is worth and the set is a 1988 Topps set.

...when you think that you card is MINT just because it is crease free.

...when you think that a card is worth more just because it is graded - doesn't matter who by.

...when you sell a card and have to get Beckett book value.

...when you think Beckett book value means that that is what a card is worth.

...when you think that your 1987 Topps set will be worth thousands of dollars 50 years after production just because a 1957 Topps set is.

...when you think that a card or a collection of cards are better just because you don't have them and you just have to have them.

...(similiar to some above) when you hang on to that "hot" card because you just know that if it's worth $100 now, it will just have to be worth $200 next year at this time.

That's all I have for now. Feel free to chime in.

Shane

When you think PSA is a prostate test.

When you don't know the difference between a tilt and diamond cut.

When you refer to authenticating as validating.

When you think a Population Report is done by the US Census Bureau.

When you refer to a “box” of cards as a carton.

When you think a "proof" is something on a whiskey bottle.

...when you put cards in velveeta boxes.

...when you think the value of a card increases drastically when a player dies...(yes, I'm still holding on to my 1978 Topps Lyman Bostocks)

...when you cut up plastic sheets to make individual card sleeves.

I used to use the velveeta boxes to sort all the time back in the 70s.

When the card went "straight from pack to hard case so therefore it is mint"

I love how they always say "hard case" referring to top loaders image
