I noticed you have become quite the topic over at the collectors universe message boards. To me, the fact that you may over grade your cards for sale on ebay, was not the problem I have with you, it was the retaliatory feedback you left Greg.
Just because someone left you neutral feedback, does not give you the right to neg him, and make up an excuse that he took too long to get paid. Greg already showed that he paid within 7 days using Paypal.
You have lost several, if not many, of potential and existing customers, that are regulars on the CU threads, and in addition, your emails trashing graded material, are being circulated all over the collecting message boards.
Next time you consider giving a customer a negative feedback for retaliatory reasons, take a deep breath and count to 10. Thanks for your time! Bob, Trustee for: The Renaissance Trust aka: rbdjr1
edit: P.S. Actually, I do have a big problem with the "overgrading raw material"! LOL! But the issue I have with this seller was his retaliatory feedback! This type of behavior, holds all that use the ebay feedback system, hostages! And that really sucks! rd
I don't agree with sellers leaving feedback first. Feedback is based on the ENTIRE transaction not just that the buyer paid. There are lots of things that can go wrong after payment is recieved that would make the buyer deserve a neg or no feedback at all. Some buyers out there use feedback as a weapon. I used to leave feedback first, but had one buyer say they feel they paid too much for the card and wanted a partial refund or a neg would be left. I had another leave a neg because it took 5 days after shipping to recieve the item(this was during Katrina's mess.) There was another where I had a buyer admit he got the item but since I did not use DC he was going to "teach" me a lesson about DC. He left me a neg for non-receipt and won a INR claim with Paypal. I left feedback first in all these and had no way to warn future sellers of their practices, so I adopted an automatic feedback system.
In your case I think a neutral at the minimum or even a neg was warranted. If I had negged you though it would have been for not giving me a chance to fix the problem first, not for slow pay.
I see buyers scream about lack of customer service on Ebay, situations like this do not give a seller a chance to perform customer service. Feedback is intended to be left when the transaction is OVER. The transaction is not over until the buyer indicates it is by leaving feedback.
That said I still don't think I would buy from him.. Although there is one item he has right now that is catching my eye.
Let's just let this thread die. He and I agreed to withdraw feedback. I don't want to talk about this issue any more.
Thanks for everyone's input through...I appreciate everyone's insights, even if you didn't necessarily agree w/ me. In hindsight, I probably should have contacted him for, however I am fed up w/ sellers who overgraded their cards. Maybe it wasn't intentional on his part, but it is my #1 gripe against sellers.
