Poll: Which of these two trades will be considered more lopsided 20 years from now?

Discuss.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

I think Liriano will end up being the better pitcher than Haren. Yet, I would love to have Haren and Calero back right now.

  • Liriano is an amazing talent, Bonser has a shot to be a 4th or 5th starter.... and Nathan is a Premier closer.

haren is a future Cy Young winner....tough call, but Minnesota made out better

I'd vote for the Devil Rays giving the Mets a bunch of scrubs for Scott Kazmir - even when it was obvious to the Mets (and every Mets fan that I know) that Kazmir was going to be a great pitcher.

Didn't the mets also give up Brian Bannister to the Royals for next to nothing....I watched him shut down the Indians last night and he was pretty awesome...and that was against CC....

I guess it depends on the health of Lirano

Bingo. Either way, I'd love to have Haren back. Or at least have Hudson to show for that deal instead of Mulder. Though I guess it could be worse: The Cards could have Zito.

Danny Cater for Sparky Lyle was pretty lopsided. Sure, a PTBNL (Mario Guerrero) was thrown in, but it didn't help.

Well, in hockey, Boston's bonehead Joe Thornton trade will go down as one of the most lopsided in NHL history.

Or Kip Wells.... Oh, my bad, they do have Kip Wells. If they Cardinals had just 2 .500 pitchers to replace Wells and Reyes, they would be in first place right now.

I hated the signing of Wells from the get-go, but he's been even worse than I imagined. Reyes could still have a bright future, but that's hardly a given after this season.

Yeah someone with such a track record of losing as Wells should only be a last resort pitcher.

The Joe Thornton trade ended my Bruins watching. I hate them now. Tec and Lowe for Soulcomb was pretty bad.
  • 35 years later, the Cardinals are still sick over trading S Carlton to the Phillies for Rick Wise.
