Questions answers?

I have a pretty complete set of 1975 Topps minis, 75%(?). Basic question: is it worth having them graded? Will the common's market price exceed the current grading expense plus shipment, in reality? At what grade? I'd like to collect the set but should I buy them already graded or have my set graded? For those cards I need (I'm interested in 8's or above) should I go to Ebay or are there other sources, this board, others? Are card shows worth going to? Local shops worth going to (I always assumed the cards were highly marked up)?

Perhaps this has been discussed ad naseum in the last several years here, but I'd appreciate any advice on these questions.
