Countryside, Il coin show

The annual ILNA coin show was held at the Countryside, Illinois location where there is a normal, every 2nd Sunday of every month coin show. I received a flyer about it and noticed it was a 4 day show, but on Thursday, dealers only. So I planned on going Saturday or Sunday. Didn't read the flyer since I knew that all shows there start at 9AM and they usually allow people in whenever they get there such as 8:30AM. So on Saturday, I arrived at 8:30AM and was informed that only dealers were allowed in at 9 and everyone else at 10AM so I went home. Sunday I arrived at 9:57AM and still had to wait until EXACTLY 10AM.
As soon as I entered I noticed about 1/3 of all tables were empty. Guard at the door said all tables were filled but many have left yesterday. I walked around and noticed the dealers left were the ones that were normally there at all the shows there each month. Purchased a few ordinary coins at a few dealers but nothing to brag about. Only one dealer that is a member here that I knew, jmscoins. Bought a pile of Buffalo Nickels from him at a really nice price. He is fun to bargain with.
At a coin show a few months ago a dealer told me he had piles of Whitman Classic and other Albums that he just wanted to get rid of so I told him to bring them. He did at this show. Three boxes of them. I took one entire box of all the Whitman Albums, about 40 of them and now in the process of filling them from duplicates. Turned out a rather decent show. For a Sunday it got crowded and a lot more YN's than normal.
To bad people at the coin show didn't know that in the town of LaGrange, a few miles North, right in the middle of town, a large store was having a really big outdoor tent sale. One there last year so I stopped. The reason is a lady was demonstrating Weber Grills. The only way to test was to cook stuff on them. She cooked all kinds of stuff and put it out on tables to help yourself. Ham, Polish Sausage, steaks, Chicken, Cinamon Rolls and lots, lots more. I asked if it was OK to pig out and she said help yourself, got ot get rid of it somehow.
By the time I got home I think I gained ten pounds.

Great job at finding a new location. You've just cut out the northern half of the Chicago market. You can bet I won't show up. It already takes me an hour to get to Countryside. Schaumburg or something around Rosemont would have been a much smarter idea to centralize it near the western suburbs.
Over the years the ILNA show has seen a steady decrease in National /Regional dealer attendance. Used to see J.Kern, Gus Tiso, John Schuch, there, but not lately.
BTW Carl, the ILNA shows have always started at 10am, unlike the regular monthly show at that locale.
and they're cold.
