How much should I pay for a box of Allen & Ginter???

I don't collect new material so I have no clue what new stuff costs... but I like the look of the Allen & Ginter cards. I went to my local card shop and he sells the sealed boxes for $140.00. I am sure he is a lot more expensive than the internet. I have no idea what a box will run me to bust open. Can someone let me know how much is the going rate is for a unopened box. Also is ebay the best place to purchase this? If not let me know where they are sold.

Thanks

Josh

Dave and Adam's currently has them at $77 a box.

I figure its a fair price, but I have noticed that in the description for their cards they erronously/intentionally advertise rookie cards that can NOT be found inside the product. Not only on newer items, but on ones 6 to 8 years old in the past.

Even though I doubt it sends up a red flag on their honesty, the advertising of rookies inside packs which cannot actually be pulled is dubious at best
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

For what it's worth , a shop over here by me is selling me Hobby Boxes for 139.00 a box , he's got the Reg price at 150.00 a box .

Might be able to get them cheaper online somewhere I'm sure .
I suppose if you have a shop , you have to mark em up quite a bit , so if the person has no overhead he should be able to sell cheaper .

Wow ! that has to be the cheapest I have seen a Hobby box sold for .

    That's like getting 2 for 1 compared to where I buy .

Is that for hobby or retail?
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Looks like that price was for retail. Hobby was $107 per box.

Wow! even that price is pretty good .
A buck Oh seven would save me a decent buck per box .
  • Amazon.com
  • In a shop 130 to 150 is an average price.

Online 100 to 110 is a good price.

I still recommend Blowout cards. Less than $100 bucks and if you buy two free shipping. In 3 days you will have cards. I buy all my modern boxes from them.
