Goin cold turkey on the submission checks

I thought I'd go for something new. I have a great time ripping packs for the thrill of what I might find, so it makes sense that the same thrill would be there for a PSA shipment rip as well so I'm going cold turkey. I sent in a large (250 cards) submission just yesterday and gave my wife the submission info and told her to not give me the info unless I needed it for a problem down the line. I plan to delete the email I receive from PSA when the results pop (that'll be the hard part) and open the box not knowing for sure what I have inside. Anyone else do this?

I don't submit often (2 or 3 submissions per year at most) and this is my first real vintage submission I've ever done so I honestly don't know what to expect for results. I've been a frequent submission status checker in the past so this will be a new experience but I like the idea of the excitement of cracking the box without knowing the grades. Maybe I'll do a live PSA box rip on the boards here... I think we need to see more of that (with scans of the better stuff as you go).

Anyway, it's only day one of a long (set registry special) wait but I'm already in withdrawl of checking the status. Just thought I'd check in with others to see if they've tried this method before?

I am the master of my domain!

I don't have access to the sub number so I know I'll get as far as that damn email that PSA will send with the results. If I can avoid that I'm home free.
  • Day 2 and I'm already having withdraw pains checking to see if they received the package.

But ............... I am still Master of my Domain!

You won't be able to do it.... but nice try. chaz
  • I have been doing it that way since my second sub (im prolly on sub 15), its hard to do but I really love opening the boxes and seeing the grades then, its like the lotto.
  • I do something along that line, but not quite as drastic. I print the submission, but do not look at the results (kind of hard not to peek, but it can be done). I then lay my submission sheet on top and pull it down one card at a time and complare my results with what PSA graded the card. This is tough enough to do. What you are trying to do is probably beyond human endurance. Good luck and let us know if you succeed! image

  • Goin cold turkey on the submission checks

After 6-7 years of submitting cards to PSA, I went cold turkey on the hourly checks and found that I have much more quality time with my family and you know what, the submissions still get done and they still email be to let me know they are done.
