I will never be the first to panic .... but I believe that this is going to be a looooooooooong brutal year. It is bad enough that the Big Blue "D" is anything BUT big ...... but then we have to witness a remarkable performance from Eli only to see him go down for a month, Jacobs who RAN OFF THE field with his knee that will doom him so we are told, and Osi who is getting the rep for being hurt all the time.

I am getting ready to take some BIG BLUE lumps. Sigh ......there is nothing worse then having your NFL team have so many clouds overhead so early on.

Man I know the feeling after the Eagles losing the first game, especially with a quarterback situation. It's obvious McNabb is having problems and I'm not 100% sure at this point that these problems are going to go away. Besides the Cowboys admittedly looked very good and Romo looked much better than I expected. It's just bad right now! image
  • Sucks for Jacobs, picked him up late and thought he might be a sleeper pick...and sucks when you lose a good portion of skill position guys on opening day. Bucs lost Garcia for a quarter and who knows how long Caddy will be sidelined too.

Well, if it's any consolation, you're in the right division...and that's coming from a Cowboys fan. 8-8 or 9-7 might win the NFC East this year. Regarding Dallas, Romo will be fine, but who's going to step up when he doesn't 'have it?' All the talking heads focused on Romo during the stretch last year, but that defense has given up over 30 points the last six games. That's too much pressure for just about any QB to sustain on a weekly basis.

The Dallas D needs to start covering someone in passing situations. Make R. Williams into a linebacker as he can't cover anyone. Eli looked really good, hate to see someone seperate a shoulder like that. What about being slung down like that, will that be a fineable offense?

I don't know which defense was worse in that game, both were horrible. Eli actually had a decent game throwing the ball, but now it looks like he's out for a month (and the Giants backup QB looks awful), there is no running game (there wasn't much of one to begin with, even with Jacobs), and it won't be long before that team turns on Coughlin. I like Coughlin as a coach, but he'll have a tough time keeping that sinking ship afloat.

Giants are headed for a 6-10 season.
