Carol, go get 'em!

This auction of a Fake PSA 8 Gretzky. Of course it's from
Singapore. It looks like the old switcheroo since there is no dot on the left shoulder. The top of the holder definitely looks frosted.
I got this from the beckett boards. Of course they're laughing at PSA saying they intentionally slabbed a fake cos they don't know better,
but I dont think that's the case.

  • On the bright side, $5 shipping from Singapore is quite reasonable. image

  • I am guessing that it is real. The serial number checks out. Look up the next sequential serial number and it is also a Gretzky rookie as well (see pic). Also the Lemieux that he is selling is Cert #06006098, which is just a couple of numbers from the Gretzkys, so they were probably all submitted at the same time.

Same guy selling a questionable Roy 9, which I started a thread about last week. The flips aren't legit. They're photoshopped.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • Yes the cert. # checks out and I'm sure the flip is fine.
I just think the slab's been tampered with cos it looks frosted.
The card inside is most likely a reprint/counterfeit.

Why are the fonts and bar code so much different on 2 cards that are supposed to be consecutive serial numbers?

Fake flip. Plain and simple. Fairly obvious too.

The flips are different??? so what you can get them reslabbed. They keep the same cert#. I would be more worried about the holder be altered and not the flip.

I'm sure if you asked the guy to send a photo of the reverse he'd give you some line about his scanner "not working".
