  • After reading the book I'm not surprised they were willing to sell the card.

  • Not a bad profit after just 6 months of owning this card - almost a half a mil!!!

yeah it's becoming like monopoly money for this card. Why would someone pay 1/2 a mil just 6 months later. Why not bid on it the last time around? This card could be the downfall of the hobby if people keep messing around like this. It already has some bad press as being sheet cut and not authentic.

  • maybe owning this card is just like for bragging rights for someone with more money then they know what to do with ? maybe they dont mind spending the cash so they can walk around saying "i owned that"

also not that im saying this is the reason it sold again but look at the cards' history - it has made the previous owner money over what they paid for it almost every time its changed hand over the last 15+ years, maybe the new owner saw that the price keeps going up and figured tid be a good investment to tuck away for a 2-3 year span and then maybe dbl his purchase price ??

  • << <i>Or maybe Topps bought the card and will cut it up into 1,000 little pieces for inserts! >>

Blasphemy!!! As if cutting up vintage uniforms and bats of Hofers isn’t enough. It’s when all that garbage started that sealed my buying modern packs of cards.
  • After you buy it and have owned it a while, it probably loses its appeal.

And when you have 3 mill to throw at a card, it's probably just a novelty then you move on to other toys.
