If the baseball season ended today....who are your MVP, Cy Young and ROY winners?

some seem pretty cut and dry...others not so much.

Who should win? who will win?

Lets start with Cy Young...... right now I think its a legitimate toss-up between Wang, Beckett, Escobar and Sabathia...if Fausto Carmona had better run support he might have 20 wins already, but he has slipped a bit.

As an Indians fan I'm rooting for Sabathia image but I would applaud Beckett or Escobar and Wang.

In the N.L. I think Peavy has it locked up....

A.L. MVP I think AROD wins it, but I would give to Mike Lowell. (and I'm no sox fan, but he is by far the most valuable Sox player the 2nd half, clutch player, team leader; really picked up this team) I would support an AROD win in this category IF the Yank's make the playoffs; if Detroit somehow rallies and makes the playoffs then I'd support Magglio Ordonez.

N.L. MVP ummm... who wants this one? who deserves it? David Wright? anyone, anyone anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?

A.L. ROY: hands down Dustin Pedroia
N.L. ROY: Ryan Braun, hands down; Hunter Pence had a shot... but the injured hand did him in.

Comments

  • AL Cy Young: Beckett...best pitcher on the best team.
AL MVP: Arod's carried a team that has no business with a winning record without him. If the yanks make the playoffs, him, if Seattle makes it, it should be Ichiro.
NL Cy Young: Peavy, pitching triple crown leader right now leading in wins, K's, and ERA.
NL MVP: If the Brewers make the playoffs, Prince Fielder. .982 OPS and tons of power always make good MVP candidates.

    AL RoY: Pedroia.
NL RoY: Ryan Braun and it's not even close, I doubt even Pence would have kept pace with this monster.

I'll say it again. How come nobody is talking about Bedard for top five in the AL Cy Young?

The curse of being on a terrible team going nowhere, and there being too many other very good pitchers.

I'll give you that, but his numbers are quite a bit better than a lot of the competitors, especially Sabathia. He's done it in the AL East facing Boston and New York quite a bit, too. I'm just saying he deserves a top 3-5 finish and he probably won't get it...
  • AL Cy Young: Beckett, Escobar, Bedard
    NL Cy Young: Peavy

AL MVP: A-Rod second Ordoñez (first if A-Rod's ankle is messed up)
Nl MVP: Prince Fielder or Matt Holliday or maybe even Eric Byrnes (if D-Backs pull off an upset!!!)

AL ROY: Pedroia (to bad BJ Upton does not qualify)
    NL ROY: Braun

Hey ignorant Yankee hater, Arod carried the team in April and that's all.

Ichiro? MVP if Seattle is in?

  • AL Cy Young: Bedard if he would have finished healthy so toss up amongst others menitoned, guess go with Sabathia

    NL Cy Young: Peavy

    AL MVP: Arod
    NL MVP: Utley

AL ROY someone from Boston...LOL.....I think they have the top 3
    NL ROY Braun easily

  • gemmint, spammy I mean, thanks for your insight...amazing as usual.

Ichiro, absolutely. The Mariners are far, far below .500 without Ichiro. I'm sorry all you understand are HRs as your basis for a MVP, but it's VALUABLE PLAYER not MOST HOME RUNS.

And Arod carried the team in April and that's all? How about tonight?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  • Axtroll, you don't watch the Yankee games except when the Yankees kick the Marianted's asses all over the park so you have no idea what you're talking about as ususal. Arod carried the team in April. Every Yankee fan will tell you that. Since then he has done a great job, but carry us? Get real. Guys like Wang, Petitte, Jeter, and Posada just to name a few have been huge for us.

Oh and please don't even use Ichiro in the same sentence as Arod. It's laughable.
  • It's insulting to even mention Ichiro in the same breath as Arod:

    Ichiro - 6 Hrs, 58 RBIs

    Arod - 48 Hrs, 134 RBIs

Fine Ichiro is a great leadoff hitter. Let's compare those relevant stats too:

    Ichiro - 203 hits, 98 runs, OBP .397

    Arod - 158 hits, 125 runs, OBP .415

Care to change your stance? I doubt it. You're way to thick for such facts.
  • VALUE, VALUE.

Not best stats...if it was best stats Arod would win it nearly every year. It's what player was most valuable to his team's winning. You really don't know baseball much.

Take Ichiro off the M's, they struggle. Take Arod off the Yanks, they struggle.

    Both are great MVP candidates.

Ridiculous, you know that almost no one votes that way. There's some merit to that way of thinking, but it's just not reality.

AL MVP will be Arod or Magglio, no question in my mind. Arod if the season ended today, so Magglio has some work to do.
NL Cy Young, easy too. Jake P all the way.

AL ROY I am biased, but I say Pedroia. He's been the best and most consistent of the Boston rookies.

NL MVP, no standout that I can say is a lock. More baseball to be played to decide this one.
  • AL - CY Young - Beckett
    NL - CY Young Peavy

    AL - MVP - ARod
    NL - MVP - Howard

AL ROY - That squirt in Boston.
NL - ROY - Was really liking that Astros kid Pence, but with the injury I doubt it

AL Gold glove at SS =- Cabrera (NOT JETER!)

  • Bedard has been nearly un-hittable before missing his start vs Boston. If he played on a team in contention, it would be between him and Beckett.
    Peavy in NL hands down.

MVP AL- ARod, Ichiro or Ordonez. Whichever team gets the wildcard. Without these guys, their teams wouldn't be close, tho Jorge Posada should get a supporting MVP award... w/o him the Yanks wouldn't be close even w/ ARod's numbers

    NL- Peavy

ROY Braun in the NL and Pedrioa in the AL

There's nothing silly about stating the fact that your opinions are flawed and moronic in their origin.
  • gemmint-

I find it HILARIOUS that you've posted five times in this thread, and you've made NO picks, only posted to harass and mock my opinions.

That's your posting style here in a nutshell. You contribute NOTHING, only flaming my posts and trying to pick a fight.

    Grow up, will ya?
